Following Grendelwald, we went to the town of Wengen - accessible only by train. Upon arrival we worked up an appetite by hauling our luggage across town so we lunched outdoors across from the train station. Later after a short afternoon hike, Jon checks out the view and a brew from our patio at the Park Hotel Beausite.

On a day trip out of Wengen, we took the train past the Wengernalp station and on up to Kleine Scheiddige.

After using the GPS to verify his location, Jon downed a hot chocolate at the Nudel Tent before his attempt at playing the Alpine horn.

We hiked across the meadows to Mannlichen - just above Wengen - and then descended on the steep switchback trail pictured below.

Between the hillside towns of Wengen and Murren is the Lauterbrunnen Valley where we left the Jungfrauhoch train and climbed aboard the steep incline railway up to Murren.   Our hotel was appropriately named for its view, the Eiger Hotel.  Brilliant colored flowers and hanging baskets adorned all the buildings in unusual places.
