Holiday Card
Here is this year's holiday card.
December was a quiet month at home. We did some holiday celebration virtually but no physical events. We have been travelling for the past two years so this was a nice time to have a quiet Christmas at home together. Autodesk took the last two weeks of the year off so Jon had some time to do some projects and relax.
Team Holiday Cooking Event
Since we could not physically get togther this year, Jon's team did a virtual cooking event with Jordan's Kitchen, the same group that hosted our team dinner in March 2018. Since we could not all be together in Jordan's kitchen or any other place, Jordan delivered (or advised for remote participants) all of our ingredients and guided us through cooking using our own kitchens. Kerry Ann arranged for monogramed aprons and oven mitts. It was not as good as all being together but worked out pretty well given the circumstances. A nice end to a pretty challenging year...

Alumni Zoom
The last working day of the year, we hosted an Alumni Zoom happy hour with our team and invited current and former DOD fellows, visiting fellows, interns, employees, and those who have had tours of duty wih us. We even had a fellow in waiting. It was really fun to see all of the people who have touched our team and who we have touched over the years. We will do it again.
Christmas
This year was a quiet Christmas at home by ourselves. While being at home was not a novelty, being here for Christmas was. For the past two years we have been away. Last year, 2019, we were on sabbatical and celebrated Christmas in Muang La, Laos and the previous year, 2018, we were in Buenos Aires, Argentina en-route to our Antarctic cruise. This year we decorated the house and nested. It was a cold, rainy day - reminiscent of Christmas in Ohio when we lived there 25 years ago. The huskies liked us sharing Christmas with them.
